”There's a Midgardian word for women like you. Party pooper.”

A superhero story that doesn't end with the superhero and the supervillain punching each other through buildings and destroying an entire city during their fisticuffs. Granted, Captain Marvel did throw Thor into a mountain and partially leveled it, but this episode actually thought about where to properly fight the Asgardian college party god, and figured that the desert is the right place to put fist in face. I liked the idea of a drunken idiot and buffoon being Earth's greatest danger – someone who doesn't want to destroy the planet because of some religious thing or absolute power, but because the destruction happens accidentally during the greatest nights of debauchery ever. Just a bunch of kids without parental supervision, doing what they want and demolishing their house in the process. Thor was pretty much childish front to back in this episode, making him both an interesting and an annoying character.

Interesting because of how his life turned out to be without Loki as his brother keeping him in check (the universe was in danger because Odin and Frigga didn't manage to properly raise their son), and annoying because a character like that is just not fun to watch. But I guess now we all know what happens when a dumb kid gets superpowers and invulnerability. If we in the real world ever have to face such a living being, then it's goodnight for the human race. Well, it's already goodnight for us because of all the billionaires behaving like greedy children, but that's a story for a different type of WHAT IF...? episode.

I liked how light the episode was. Captain Marvel was mostly annoyed at having to deal with Thor, and the human characters almost behaved like they were under an enchantment spell or something in that vein, hence their attitude when it comes to partying along with the debauchers of the Nine Realms. But everyone had fun here, they enjoyed themselves, flirted, had sex, got tattoos, got married, and as soon as they woke up the next day with a hangover, they had to deal with the consequences just like any of us after a drunken night out. I wouldn't mind an episode about all the regular, non-S.H.I.E.L.D. humans dealing with their feelings for the extraterrestrials after a week of parties all across the globe. I'm sure some Asgardian/Midgardian-mixed babies were conceived during this episode...

The universe's protector and the universe's party animal are going at it with violence.
