”You know, I just drove twenty miles just to find a store, and then they had no steaks. What's happening to this country? I mean, how you gonna keep a country strong when the people are eating fish and chicken all the time? Vegetables... You think you would ever see a Russian eat a vegetable?”

Aside from this show reminding us all about the hot Cold War the Americans and the Russians were involved in since the 1960s, this little speech from the villain of the week was so random, I was wondering if any of the show's writers had an issue recently with not being able to find steaks in a supermarket. It also sounds like words any Conservative person today would speak when they look at what they call “woke people” eating healthy instead of good old cow's meat. Come on, let people eat what they like...

It's one of those episodes that tried to be smart with a convoluted crime plot, and in the end, it's all about an investigation into a magazine publisher's death, and a daughter being too interested in Michael than investigating on her own. Not only did Lauren turn out to be the show's eighth woman guest character of the week to taste the lips of Michael Knight, but she was also a dumb character. Instead of focusing on finding out who killed her father, she goes on a date with Michael, sightseeing the clubs and casinos of Las Vegas. Instead of pressuring the police to investigate, she is celebrating her birthday with a guy she just met a day or two ago. Lauren was a character thrown into the plot, so that Michael has another woman to mingle with in between scenes or during montages, like the one with the two dating their way through Vegas.

One funny thing about the episode was how Michael and K.I.T.T. were in Vegas before Lauren's plane arrived there. If that were fact, then K.I.T.T. would have traveled more than 500 miles per hour through America, and I don't believe for a second that could ever ring true. Not to mention that Lauren was not the least bit shocked by how Michael managed to arrive in Vegas before she did. Is nobody in this show asking questions about the car he is driving?

1980s television stunts still come with great production value.
