”You always carry your purse when you go to the beach?”
“Well, it keeps my suntan lotion from melting.”
This was the final episode supervised by prolific series creator Glen A. Larson, who finished his initial contract with the show and NBC, and left to do other stuff. Robert Foster would take over for him with the next episode (staying for the remainder of the show's run) and make a few changes. Those might have been necessary, considering how convoluted the plots recently became when Michael was hunting down an assassin. Not to mention the many people who had their hands on the script for the episode – five writers for this hour (two pairs of writing duos alone), making me wonder if two episode ideas were thrown together because the producers have realized they don't have the time and money to get their ideas across. Because with another assassin plot and the story of Micki suffering from amnesia and having to remember quickly to prevent herself from getting murdered (plus, Michael essentially protecting two women at the same time), it felt like I was watching two different episodes simultaneously.
The story of Micki turned out to be more interesting, thanks to Judy Landers's charming performance that reminded me of Ellen Greene's performance in 1986's LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS. She had a nerdy innocence to her that made me crush on her just a little bit – and so did Michael, who gave her a peck on the lips before the two even shared words, which not only makes Micki the sixth woman guest character of the show tasting Michael's lips, but she is also the first who does so without having had a previous connection to Michael. In addition, both Micki and Marie Elena gave him a couple of kisses on the cheek at the end of the episode for protection services well rendered. Michael Knight, stopping assassins from killing politicians while never stopping being a womanizer.
